Happy Fall, y’all embroidery design. Did you know that Fall is almost here? Hi, it’s Sue Brown from OML Embroidery. I’m watching the leaves blow in the cool wind outside my window. It made me think of how beautiful fall can be. You can feel the cool in the air, and the weather is changing, perfect for happy fall y’all embroidery designs.

It’s time for a wardrobe change, and an embroidered sweater would be great. It’s also a perfect time to embroider a sweatshirt or t-shirt with a cute embroidery design. I have an awesome machine embroidery design just for this purpose!

Find the correct size you need for your embroidery project.

If you make any embroidered apparel, knowing the correct size is important.

If the embroidery design is too big, some of it will get lost around the edges. This makes it harder to read. If the embroidery design is too small, it must have left chest placement instead of middle placement to be properly placed.

Once you determine the correct size, you must determine the placement. Certain rules govern placement, and you must ensure that it is straight.

Steps for design placement

First, fold the shirt in half. Line up the collar, cuffs, and edges to find the center for the happy fall y’all embroidery design.

It is not a good idea to eyeball the center of the shirt because it is mass-produced and often not perfectly aligned. The embroidery design must be lined up properly, regardless of pockets or any other sewn parts.

Placement can be easy.

The best way to ensure perfect placement is to use placement tools from Designs in Machine Embroidery (https://www.dzgns.com). There are placement guides, measuring tools, proper placement recommendations, and more. My favourite of all the tools is the print-and-stick target papers from Dime (Print & Stick Target Paper™ ). Hooping and Stabilizer

Once you have perfect placement, you must get the correct stabilizer and size hoop for the Happy Fall y’all embroidery design.

There’s a simple saying for embroidered shirts and sweatshirts: “If you wear it, don’t tear it.” This catchy phrase reminds you that any embroidered clothing needs a cutaway stabilizer.

Place the stabilizer on the back. If you’re working with stretchy fabric, you can stick the stabilizer directly to it for more support.

Fusing the stabilizer makes the hooping much easier.

Hooping: the last thing to do before stitching

The stabilizer is stuck in place so that it won’t shift around. Plus, you’ve got the print-and-stick target paper to help get your hooping right.

Ensure your hoop is the smallest size that will fit your embroidery design. For example, an embroidery design that is 7.78 x 7.78 would need an 8×8 hoop for the best outcome. Hoop the shirt so the design fits within the stitching area. Follow the center line for placement.

When using a flatbed embroidery machine, like my Brother Luminaire 3, only stitch the top of the shirt. Make sure that no part of the shirt fabric is under the hoop. For a multi-needneedle embroidery machine, such as my Brother 10-needle machine, make sure everything is clear for your happy fall y’all embroidery design.

Once at your machine, lock the hoop in and move your needle to the center marking of the print-and-stick paper. Make sure you remove any stickers or sticker paper from the embroidered apparel before you stitch.
