Hi! I’m Sue Brown, the creator behind OML Embroidery — and if you love machine embroidery, in-the-hoop projects, quilt blocks, mug rugs, patches, and designs that actually stitch out beautifully… you’re in the right place. My passion for Sue Brown and OML Embroidery is reflected in every design I create.

I’ve been designing and digitizing machine embroidery files for over 20 years, and I’m still obsessed with it. I’m the kind of person who can’t walk past a thread rack without wanting to reorganize it, and I definitely believe that “just one more design” is a perfectly reasonable life choice.

OML Embroidery isn’t a hobby project — it’s my full-time passion, my business, and my creative world. While I do miss my patches business, I am having so much fun with OML Embroidery – i have come up with so many ideas for the best machine embroidery designs.

Over the years, I’ve created thousands of embroidery tutorials and stitch-alongs, including:

• 2,500+ recorded videos and live stitch alongs that are not edited on YouTube. If something goes wrong, in a live video I will troubleshoot and fix whatever went wrong.

My Design Style (A Little Bold… A Little Magical)

My designs are known for being creative, detailed, and sometimes a little dramatic (in a good way).

I love:

• bold outlines
• layered textures
• unexpected color combinations
• themed collections and bundles
• designs that feel like they have personality
• I think outside the embroidery box, and always have options and ideas.

And yes… I may have a slight obsession with dragons and fantasy themes and gothic embroidery designs.

Stitchwood Hollow: My Fantasy Embroidery World

One of my favorite creative projects is Stitchwood Hollow, a fantasy-inspired embroidery collection filled with original characters, mystical symbols, dragons, and story-driven designs. There is a Keeper’s log, a map and each guardian gets a free sigil patch with every design.

If you love gothic, celestial, and fantasy-style embroidery, Stitchwood Hollow is where things get fun.

I started OML Embroidery because I love creating designs that make people excited to stitch, confident enough to try something new, and be creative with colors and fabric.
