Flowers in Embroidery: Sfumato Stitch

I just love to play around with Sfumato Stitch – once you get the hang of it, it really works well.  I took a beautiful picture of a Daffodil from my friend’s garden, and turned it into beautiful embroidery.

Here is what I came up wth so far – i still might make some changes and add some little details here and there to improve on the look, but all in all I am happy with the design!  Can you imagine what it is going to look like stitched out???

DAFFODIL COLOR

I also decided to play around with some coloring and make the whole design have a sepia look:

How about black and white? Why not?
DAFFODIL BL & WHITE

Sfumato stitch is awesome once you get the hang of it. I will be posting some more work here shortly!

HAPPY DIGITIZING
